Sohan wants to travel 5500 km from Berne to Delhi – by Rikscha. By doing so, he wants to remind people of the importance of humanity and mutual support.
It is a longtime dream of the Bernese Rikscha driver Sohan Lal (40) to ride his Rikscha from his new home Berne to his homeland Delhi India. His dream is to inspire humanity with the simple message that we are all one and here to help each other. This September he starts his 5500 km route from Berne, Switzerland to New Delhi, India throughout 10 countries. The goal of the journey is to raise funds for the Aaina Foundation in Delhi which is caring for young alcohol and drug addicts and helps them to get off the streets, provides them with a place to sleep, medical care and shows the youth a new perspective in life.
As Sohan grew up in the slums of New Delhi himself and started working as a shoe shiner in the age of 9, his heart is always with the people in need. With his Journey of Hope, Sohan is not only fulfilling his one dream but also helps countless others to dare dreaming again.
