In a way or in another we are all part of what is happening today in different parts of the globe. The main cause of what is happening is the human race. It’s us. The unconscious choices we make, the politicians that we vote and that in spite of their high studies and privileged cultural upbringing are completely depleted of any morals, vision, respect or even basic common sense. The earth from the Amazon to the Arctic, is literally burning at a very high pace. A wake up call that is becoming every day stronger and that no one, no one, can take lightly. We all must stop, think, take responsability: do we vote politicians that make the planet an A priority in their agenda?
As far as caring for the planet we can do a lot. Do we consume goods from companies caring about their production? Do we make an effort to buy better and less? Do we buy cars that pollute less? Do we avoid as much as possible plastic abuse? Do we privilege swapping and second hand? Do we stop and think: do I really need this before buying it? Do we do car sharing, use the bike, walk or use public transport as much as we can? And one more time: do we vote and do we carefully pick our candidates?
Personally I do my best but I can do much better I know it. Like voting green politicians in Switzerland and participating and supporting the #globalclimatestrike. I’m vegetarian, riding only a Vespa and don’t have a car, taking trains and walking a lot. Buying organic and as much as possible plastic free. Leaving in a shared house with solar panels and a 100% sustainable mindset. I still fly too much and too often, I need to figure that out. I still buy salads and take-away food with all that plastic and need to reduce that. Tomorrow I want to switch from google to #ecosia the Internet search engine based in Berlin, Germany, that plants trees by donating 80% or more of its surplus income to non-profit organizations that focus on reforestation and conservationism.
