For the 5th time in 12 years, Red Bull Illume invites all the board- and actionsports photographers to present their most incredible shots to a professional judging panel of 50 magazine editors and publishers, all issue from the boardsports world.
7sky and board- and action sports have been more than half of my whole life. From 1989 throughout 2015, all I did was interviewing, meeting, promoting and showing through our high quality magazine, people from the boardriding scene. Passionate and creative men and women, pushing their excellence and their expectations for their art further at a daily rhythm. There was seldom a day I wasn’t thrilled about what I did, saw, the stories I heard and wrote, the people I met, the organisations I discovered and the brands I got passionate about thanks to their creative and later on ethical approach of production and communication.
The times of 7sky Magazine opened me up to the movement of yoga, healthy living, connection to nature, even though nobody outside of the scene really talked about it.
Brands and specially outdoor-brands started to reconsider their way of production and became true inspirations for all the brands nowadays walking in a sustainable direction.
Today, as one of the judges of Red Bull Illume, I reconnect again to these fascinating times of before. Photography in the meantime has changed much, instagram and videos have become a huge current and everyone has become a photographer. But what remains constant and always will remain constant are the emotions we experience while looking at an incredible photo, a once in a lifetime moment in which the photographer, his object, the environment and the angle find themselves at the right place in the moment.
So, dearest photographers… If you are the holder of such a photo, please be sure to not keep it back to us, but submit it to the Red Bull Illume Contest until 31st July, and get a great chance that your story is going to be heard, that your art is going to be considered, and that your love for what you do is going to be supported.

To enter Red Bull Illume is very simple, photographers just need to follow these steps:
- Shoot awesome stuff – what that is, you decide!
- Register and sign in at www.redbullillume.com– it’s just a couple clicks
- Choose your categories for submission – you can submit every image to two categories and in total 10 images per category = 100 chances to win
- Upload your images. For the initial entry, only JPGs and MP4s are required
- Submit your image until July 31, 2019 – once an image is submitted, it is final and can’t be changed
