Bang Bang and Mike Horn share a drop of water!

There is world vaster, more brilliant, and brighter than any other in the world, with such natural wealth that no imagination could invent. But it is a real world; a world of silence where thousands of sea stars cross just as many maritime species. It’s a world of a nearly endless blue beauty that sparkles far beyond clouds and into space. This large coral reef extends more than 2,300 km along the coast of northern Australia to the South of Papua New Guinea. It is the largest natural structure in the world.  The reef shelters and protects more than 1600 species of fish, 450 coral types, thousands of starfish and sea urchins, 6 of the 7 species of sea turtles, 215 species of birds and 30 sorts of whales plus many species only found in this magic place where infinity and magnificence seem omnipresent.
This text could be from 50 years ago since today the coral reef appears lifeless and solemn with a somber procession of loose stones and white vine shoots in a ghostly procession. The barrier suffocates, bleaches under the climatic attacks and other events sending it towards a moribund epilogue, taking more than half of the species with it.

There is a man who has crossed the oceans for 25 years aboard his sailboat. The water is his favourite element.  He feels part chameleon and part fish, melting into nature which welcomes him. His name is Mike Horn, the explorer, the adventurer, and some will say, the madman.

In May, he left everything again to explore nature. This is a precarious expedition in the course of which he will try to join 2 of the Earth’s poles on the ice, in the desert or in the water. Always pushed by the need to go and meet nature, as her friend and the only one who does not betray you, he says. Having seen and travelled well, Mike has seen her suffering, slow death thinks she is worth protecting. He wants to be the voice to lift us from our sleepy consciousness. He’s chosen to bring back secrets from calmed waters taken in the evening by moonlight on his sailboat, Pangaea. He goes throughout his journey collecting samples and to analyse pH, plankton, as well as DNA to draw further conclusions. He will be crossing waters that no one has yet crossed, collecting data no one has ever collected to bring precious information in the name of science. He will use his voice, his passion, his fervour to speak to all and prove to the world that some drops of water can be enough to shake our consciousness and stir action. Share – Adventure – Environment – such are Mike Horn’s missions.

Water Drop DNA is the project of everyone, but it is our Bang Bang Agency Project and since we met this incredible person who is Mike Horn we really feel everyday that a drop of water can be essential.
